Assalamualaykum Warahamatullah Wabarakatuh
Verily All Praise and Glory is due to Allah . It is due to Him and none other. We Praise Him and we seek His forgiveness and we ask Him for His Mercy.
I come around once a year. I am embraced by many people, all over the world. I have been around for more then 1400 years. Some prepare for me and are happy that I have arrived. Some dread me and hate the burden I put on their lives. So how could so many love me yet so many hate me? Who am I you ask, I am the blessed month of Ramadan. I am more of whom then what because of my importance.
So I guess that was a little quiz or riddle for all you riddle lovers. Any ways I am not going to bombard you with the Quranic verses or hadeeths about Ramadan. All I want to share with you all is that it’s that time of year again, where we all God-fearing Muslims look forward to. The other day I told myself that this Ramadan was going to be different then all the other Ramadan’s. Then it got me asking; what is it that I wanna do that will be different? Then I decided to come up with a list of goals that I wanted to achieve before the Eid Prayer was called. I will entertain you all with a few of my goals.
- Finish the entire Quraan- I did this one Ramadan and subhanaAllah it felt great.
- Memorize a few hadeeths- Not just in English but in Arabic too!
- Break fast with the needy
- Do not purchase anything unless it is an absolute necessity. For me, this will probably be the hardest.
- I had started reading the Seerah of the Prophet(Salahu alaihi wasalam) so I plan to finish it …its 400 pages.
InshaAllah I plan on coming up with more, but I do not want soo much that I forget to complete them. It would be helpful if you all can share some of your plans/goals for this blessed month that is knocking our doors, all we gotta do is get up and answer the knock and welcome our guest with the best of greetings and treat it as it ought to be treated; with love and respect.
